WHO I SPECIALIZE IN

I work exclusively with couples. I help couples who are challenged with loss of connection in their relationships. I help couples who are having difficulties with conflict, trust, friendship, emotional triggers, emotional disengagement, anger, fear, confusion, loneliness and sadness. I know that if your relationship is in trouble, it can affect your outlook on everything else in your life. I believe that with help, partners can grow towards each other, rather than away. I believe that your relationship can become stronger than before, and that you can learn the tools to handle the ups and downs…..together.

If you are struggling with not feeling understood or validated by your partner, working with me could help you communicate more effectively. With over 10 years of experience in couples work, I understand the complex nature of issues that can negatively affect your relationship and can provide tools for you to have a more meaningful, satisfying relationship. Together, we’ll explore how to get to a place where your relationship is fun again.

As your therapist, I will collaborate with you to find your best way forward, and get you back to place where you once belonged.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I’m a licensed professional counselor in Oregon, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in California, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington. I hold a MA degree with honors in Counseling from St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX, and a BA degree with honors in Psychology from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, CA.

I have experience in individual, couples and group counseling in both inpatient and outpatient settings, providing trainings for other mental health workers, supervision for graduate students and served as Clinical Manager at an outpatient mental health agency.

I have always been interested in relationships; why they succeed, why they fail, why partners stay in them unhappily, why partners break apart without trying to get help. This has led me to seek advanced training in scientific-based approaches of Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and  Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My focus is with a variety of relationship issues including: premarital, marital, infidelity, divorce and blended families.

I live in a blended family myself with my husband, our four teenagers and German shepherd, Phelps. I am also proud to be a recent cancer survivor. When not in the office, I’m enjoying time with family, watching movies, hiking, yoga and traveling to new far away places.
